It’s getting a bit colder here in Portugal, but it’s mid-season and the temperature is still quite good…
But I know that in other parts of the world, like in New York, the weather is really cold already (a friend of mine lives in NY and, a few days ago, told me that it was 5ºC there, and it will start snowing soon ;)).
So I’m gonna give some tips to change these outfits from mid-season to winter. It’s quite simple and you can see more tips in this post: How to Dress Warm and Fashionable.
So here are this month looks:
5 Mid-Season Looks
Casual-Chic
This is a very simple look: skinny pants with knee-high boots and a knit. Instead of a trench coat you can wear a warmer coat, parka or fur coat. A scarf is also great to warm your neck and great to avoid colds ;)
Easy
A very simple outfit with jeans and a large crew neck knit in a great neutral tone – beige. If the weather is cold wear ankle boots instead of pumps.
Trendy
One of this season’s street style trends are COMPLETELY ripped jeans like the ones in the photo. They’re ideal for the weekend – not for work for obvious reasons :)
Even for the weekend you should combine these jeans with chicer pieces like pumps or high-heeled ankle boots or with embellishments so it doesn’t look too casual. You can be sure your grandmother won’t like it anyway, at least if she’s like mine LOL.
Classic
An outfit very easy to wear: a straight knee-length skirt with a loose shirt. To adapt this look for winter just add black opaque tights and black ankle boots if it’s really cold (black opaque tights also look great with sandals).
Chic
A chic lace dress always looks great with a leather jacket, that creates an edgy/rock contrast and gives the all outfit an edgier vibe.
For colder weather wear black tights – they can be completely opaque or less opaque, depending on the occasion (sheer tights look more chic). You could also wear high-heeled ankle boots.
Occasions Key
- Casual-Chic: looks for work if it’s not very formal, for the weekend or even for going out, depending on the occasion.
- Easy: easy to replicate looks with basic pieces. You can wear them also for several occasions.
- Trendy: Trendier looks that usually call attention to you and have very trendy pieces.
- Classic: classic looks for work or other formal occasions.
- Chic: looks for going out or special events.
