Today I want to tell you about how to follow through with what you decide, even (and especially), if you don’t feel like it!
Recently I’ve decided that I’m going to do everything I don’t feel like doing (and especially if I don’t feel like it).
You’ll understand better below ;)
It’s something I always did with physical exercise.
One rule I’ve learned that makes sense to me is: “If I don’t feel like exercising, then I should exercise.” Simply because exercise gives me energy. I’m often very tired and when I exercise, I get 1000 times better. I feel energetic again despite spending energy – theoretically.
I don’t know why, but I started applying this in other areas of my life. For example, this morning I didn’t feel like taking the dishes out of the machine, although it was important so I’d leave the house tidy.
In the past I might have given up on the idea and do it when I came back at the end of the day. But not today because I thought, “If I don’t feel like it, I’ll do it and it’s even more important that I do it.”
And so I did it.
Of course, as soon as I started doing it, it didn’t cost me at all and I felt better because I was doing it, I didn’t give up, nor let my tiredness stop me.
I also wanted to remove the hair on my legs, which I do at home with one of those automatic machines. I also thought, “But I don’t feel like it…”
But then I thought, “If I don’t feel like it, it’s because I’m going to do it and even faster than if I felt like it.” LOL.
The truth is that it works very well. My legs look great (I spent the weekend at the dam and noticed that I had some more hairs ;))
And I realized why it’s more important to do it when I don’t feel like it…
Because I’m building my confidence. I’m showing myself that nothing will stop me from doing the things I know I have to do. I’m showing myself that I can trust myself and believe in me. And that I’m disciplined.
Jim Rohn says: “Self confidence comes from feeling good about yourself. And one of the best ways to feel good about yourself is at the end of the day to know that you poured it on. That you did your best. At the end of those kinds of days, when you feel good about yourself, self-confidence starts to rise. You know that if you can have this kind of a good day, then you can have another one the other day. And those days becomes the weeks, the weeks become the months, and those months become a powerful year. Self-confidence comes from the lack of neglect. If you will not neglect to do the small daily disciplines. when you’ve done all the stuff, self-confidence grows. That self confidence affects your health, your future, your psyche.”
How to Follow Through with Your Image and Style
In relation to your image and your style, this means that you can start doing things that will change your image and style, even if you don’t feel like it. Knowing that in the middle of the task, or at the end, you’ll feel much better because you did it instead of giving up:
▪ do your skin care routine
▪ wear make-up (if you like it)
▪ choose a beautiful outfit
▪ style your hair well and take good care of your hair
▪ eat well
And so on…
And that’s it! :)
