Today I wanted to tell you about this new method that helps a lot with: feeling calmer, more present, more in the now.

Feeling like the observer, being the observer, instead of going with your emotions, with your ego and with all the crazy feelings that sometimes lead you to do things you really didn’t want to do.

That method is just sitting with your feelings!

What does that mean?

Well, you can do it sitting, or laying down, or in any position ;) but you need to stay with the overwhelming feelings, with the crazy feelings, with the fear and anxiety.

For example, right now I was feeling anxious because I didn’t know what to talk about. I had no ideas. I was starting to feel anxious because I have to go to the gym in a bit and I wanted to write before that.

I started my timer and I felt the pressure of having to get things done. Usually I would just push through the task. I was doing that.

I was going to go to my list of ideas, where I have a lot of ideas for posts, and take something from there. I was going to do it anxious.

And then I noticed that feeling.

I noticed that I was feeling anxious and that that isn’t an abundant feeling.

But the interesting thing is that when I noticed and stopped to just feel it, it went away just as quickly as it came.

I allowed myself the time to just be there, and I realised and remembered that if I’m feeling rushed, the best thing is to just stop and do nothing and be with that feeling.

I love the phrase from the movie “The Fault in Our Stars”: Pain demands to be felt.

I think all feelings demand to be felt.

And when we don’t feel them, they just stay there. Asking for our attention. Telling us something is wrong. Demanding to be felt.

So here’s how to evolve more quickly in your spirituality. Here’s how to be more the observer and less the reactive crazy person ;):

Sit with your feelings, be there with them, for them and just feel them until the end. Until they go their way.
