Are you focusing on being happy or on working?

Today I wanted to ask you if you think you don’t have time to take care of yourself, because you need to work on your business.

For a long time I heard that our energy comes first, we have to take care of ourselves first, make sure we are happy. Because our business after all, comes from us. You’re responsible for making things happen, for creating your coaching programs or packages, or whatever you want to sell. You’re the one who needs to be there for your customers. And if your energy isn’t good, if you don’t feel good most of the time, how can you do your best work?

It seemed like a very good idea, but in practice, I thought I didn’t have the time.

Yes, I loved it when I heard that we have to put ourselves first, maybe because what I was doing was the opposite and I thought it made sense. Because I felt I needed to feel better, to take care of myself, to do more things I like, instead of always doing what I “MUST” do…

It’s hard to believe that you can have a business where you can take care of yourself first, and that’s also part of your success. In other words, realizing that your success depends on taking care of yourself. Because what we’ve learned is that working hard gets results. Working long hours moves us forward. This was definitely what I learned working in IT for 6 years. I had the notion that if I left work at 6 pm and didn’t stay until later, I was going to be left behind. Even so, I always left at 6pm or 6:30pm because I just couldn’t stay there a second longer. I needed rest, time for myself.

There are people maybe who like to work a lot and even if they don’t have much time for themselves, they feel good and happy. I don’t think that’s my case ;) But by trying to be like that too, I ended up leaving my happiness and well-being behind.

Lately I’ve been stopping more often, doing more things that I enjoy, I don’t think I need to run and get there (wherever there is) quickly and stressed.

And I realized that I need to take this to the next level. Put my happiness and well being first and foremost.

Because how can we help others and serve others, be there for the people around us, from a place of lack, fatigue or anxiety?

So you might think about: What makes you happy? What activities can you add to your day-to-day to be at your best? To take care of yourself? Then put it in your schedule to make sure you do it ;)

This will help you to be more successful in your business, and above all, to love your life!

Lots of love,
Lena*
