How to Wear Accessories + Look of the Week

Today I’m talking about one of the favourite style themes of (almost) all women… accessories ;) I don’t usually wear many accessories every day, so my initial look had just my usual rings… But then I felt like adding a necklace and more radical bracelet. You can watch the video where I talk about accessories below (and see my tattoos): How to Wear Accessories Accessories are pretty easy to wear. There’s an important rule, which is, only having a statement piece, or the outfit will look confusing. In my case, my statement piece is the bracelet, the necklace is really simple. I also took some photos without the necklace so you can see the difference ;) Another idea is choosing very well the pieces you have, because any accessory calls attention. So only wear that you really love! There’s also a “forget about it” rule ;): not mixing gold and…

Nothing Goes Out of Fashion & Old Fashionable Look

Do you think you can’t wear certain pieces because they’re out of fashion? What I realised over the many years in which I like my style is that almost nothing goes out of fashion, in the sense that we can’t wear it because it doesn’t look good. There are season’s trends, that we can choose to wear or not. But we can also were all the pieces that aren’t a trend. Today I have some photos of an old look (because I didn’t have time for a photoshoot for this week ;)), and as you can see I could wear it today. I also did a video but it’s in Portuguese. I’m going to do more videos (in English too), and I decided that I don’t need to wear makeup or look very put together, or I won’t do anything at all. Goodbye to perfectionism once and for all :)…

Mini Vacay to Recharge Batteries

By the end of last week I was feeling super tired, worried and in need of a vacation. Why? Well, because there’s been so many changes in my life lately that I can’t even stop to breathe. In one year I changed homes twice. I rented my house for a year and that ended in 6 months (it didn’t go very well) and then in Airbnb all Summer. My kids changed school to a completely different area. We sold two cars and bought one. I had a housekeeper and then I hadn’t, I had another one and then I hand’t again, and now I’m hiring someone new (for someone who has 3 kids a housekeeper is REALLY important ;)). And now I have another thousand decisions to make! So I decided to take a vacation. Ideally I’d go for one or two weeks ;) But because we need to work,…

A-line Skirt, Dress or Coat: Fashion Definition

An A-line skirt, dress or coat, is fitted at the top and gradually widens towards the hem, creating the shape of a capital letter A. 3 Advantages of the A-line Shape Great to disguise big hips (good for triangle body shape) Balances wide shoulders (good for inverted triangle body shape) It’s a classic so it won’t go out of fashion – you can add it to your basics collection. Here are some examples: A-Line Skirt A-Line Dress A-Line Coat History of the A-Line The A-line is a classic. It arrived in the 50s. The term A-line was created by Christian Dior. Dior labeled his three collections of 1954 and 1955 after the shapes of the letters H, Y, and A. Then in Paris, Spring 1958, Yves Saint Laurent, inspired on the A-line shape, created a Trapeze line. The collection shows knee-length dresses that flare from the shoulders to the hem. They are…

What to Wear This Fall: Ideas & Trends (D&G)

Wanna know what to wear this Fall? You can take lots of ideas from the two last Dolce & Gabbana runway shows: Fall/Winter 2016 and Spring/Summer 2017. You’ll also be way ahead because you can wear/search for ideas from Spring 2017 ;) Dolce & Gabbana runway shows are always amazing, full of embellished pieces and gorgeous accessories! Dolce & Gabbana Runway Show: Fall/Winter 2016 Do you like the Disney princesses? Who doesn’t, right? At least I like everything Disney, including Walt himself. My favourite movie is Frozen. It’s more about the love between sisters than the romantic love of almost all Disney princesses movies… and the saviour is the sister instead of the prince (which is an evolution for women ;)) But this Dolce & Gabbana show is really about the most tradicional princesses: Cinderella, Sleeping Beauty, Snow White. And it’s VERY awesome. “Today, every girl wants to be a princess.…

How to Wear a Pleated Skirt + Bomber (Trends)

Do you want a trendy, stylish combo to wear in the mid-season? Then try wearing a pleated skirt with a bomber. It looks different because the pleated skirt is a very feminine chic piece and the bomber is masculine and more casual. And then you can wear the skirt and the bomber with lots of other pieces. Although they’re trendy pieces, they also don’t go out of fashion because they’re basics (especially if you buy neutral tones). Here are 2 suggestions with pieces from the net (one super luxe and the other if you have a budget ;)). Super Luxe: Pleated Skirt + Bomber On a Budget: Pleated Skirt + Bomber Easy Styling: Pleated Skirt + Bomber The skirt is more chic, the bomber more casual, so you already have the casual-chic style. You can wear it with a tee, blouse or sweater/sweatshirt. If it’s a midi skirt (it ends at…

How to Value Yourself to the Max: Part II

To be at your best, you need above else to feel happy, and good about life. A coaching method that really helps is the Wheel of Life. It’s pretty simple: Wheel of Life 1. Make a circle and divide it into the main areas of your life Usually I use these: Family & Friends, Personal Development, Spirituality, Finances, Career, Romantic Relationship, Fun, Contribution, Health/Fitness, Physical Environment. 2. Give each one a score from 0 to 10 3. Then make plans to upgrade the areas that have a value below 8. Here’s a picture: Some questions you can do for each area below 8 (to understand better what’s not working and to create a new vision): What’s missing in this area? If you were evaluating this area in about three years, what has to have happened in your life so you can be happy with your progress? After you know what you want, make a written…
